Earn Miles! from your College experience. As a United College Plus member, you can earn miles toward free travel on United. New members will receive 5,000 bonus miles (2,500 bonus miles for your first paid United roundtrip and 2,500 bonus miles for your third paid roundtrip on United). To earn this bonus, you must complete your three roundtrips before July 31, 2002. You'll also have the opportunity to earn more miles by volunteering with the "VolunteerMiles" program. Students can earn frequent flier miles by simply helping out in their community. To qualify, you must volunteer with at least two of the participating nonprofit organizations. Every 50 hours of volunteer work you do earns you 5,000 bonus miles, up to a maximum of 10,000 total bonus miles during one 12-month school-year. You need to be a member of United College Plus.
