| MAY 2002 >> DFDS Seaways' Princess of Scandinavia suffered two fires in the North Sea while sailing to Gothenburg with 884 people on board. The first fire broke in the engine room at about 10:30pm on Friday, May 17th, it was brought under control after about two hours. Laterm a second fire in the funnel was also contained. There were no reported casualties. (05/18/02) >> Delaware North's Hospitality and Entertainment Group purchases some of the assets of Delta Queen Steamboat Co. at aution. It purcahsed 3 ships, the Delta Queen, the American Queen and the Mississippi Queen for $80.4 million dollars. Delaware North expects to take possession of the fleet around May 23 and will keep the base of operations and most of its Delta Queen employees in New Orleans. (05/03/02) |

| APRIL 2002 >> The U.S. district attorney announced that Carnival Corporation has agreed to pay $18 million after pleading guilty to charges of polluting the ocean. The district attorney's office said that Carnival admitted that some of its 43 ships had illegally released oily bilge water and that the company had lied about the practice to the U.S. Coast Guard. The company also admitted that employees had falsifed documents on waste discharges from July 1998 to January 2001. Carnival will pay $9 million in fines and another $9 million to environmental groups and projects and will change environmental safety practices aboard its ships. (04/19/02) |

| MARCH 2002 >> A ship belonging to Clipper Cruise Line, the MV Clipper Adventurer apperently runs aground on a sand-bank in Guyana. The ship had 118 passengers when it ran aground, no injuries were reported. (03/28/02) >> ResidenSea has taken full ownership of the vessel The World, it residential resort community at sea in an elaborate ceremony in Trondheim, Norway. The brand new passenger ship represents a new concept in cruising. The vessel contains 110 private apartments rather than staterooms, so far 80 of the 100 apartments have been sold which sell from $2 million to $6.8 million a piece. (03/15/02) |

| NOVEMBER 2001 >> P&O Princess Cruises announced it's merging with Royal Caribbean in a deal worth about $3 billion, it would creates the world's largest cruise ship company. The combined company would have 41 ships and 75,000 berths, making it larger than Carnival Cruise Lines. (11/20/01) |

| MAY 2001 >> Radisson Seven Seas Cruises christened it's newest ship the Seven Seas Mariner in Los Angeles. The new ship is billed as the world's first all-suite, all-balcony cruise ship. The Seven Seas Mariner departs May 23, on a ten-night cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver on it's inaugural cruise. (05/22/01) |

| SEPTEMBER 2000 >> Premier Cruise Lines' ceased operation as it's vessels are seized by it's creditors. More than 1,000 passengers were stranded in Halifax, Canada as it's ships the Rembrandt, SeaBreeze and Big Red Boat II were ordered to dock there. It's ship, the Big Red Boat I was seized in Nassau, Bahamas where passengers were unloadedand flown back to Orlando, While nearly 400 passengers aboard the Big Red Boat III were left stranded inCozumel, Mexico. | JULY 2000 >> An Indonesian ferry carrying carrying as many as 492 passengers capsized in rough seas in the Moluccas Islands in eastern Indonesia. Ten passengers were rescued, while all others are feared dead. (07/03/00) |
