>> SN Brussels Airlines is launching its own frequent-flier program entitled Privilege to replace the present Qualiflyer program, which appeared to have survived the collapse of SAirGroup a year ago but now intends to end operations on December 31st.  (09/10/02)
>> Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways signed reciprocal agreements to join each other's frequent-flier programs effective October 1st, 2002. It enables Delta SkyMiles members to earn and redeem miles for flights on Virgin Atlantic and vice versa.  (09/06/02)

AUGUST 2002
>> Midwest Express Airlines introduced a new option, powered by MilePoint, as an added feature of its frequent-flier program that allows members to buy and gift miles.  (08/19/02)

APRIL 2002
>> ClickRewards is back, but this time with a new owner. The look and feel is the same as before, but the rewards opportunities aren't as good as before. The only redemption choice for frequent flyer miles is US Airways - 500 miles for 900 Clickrewards. (04/18/02)
>> WebMiles is the latest casualty of September 11th. The company has decided to close shop after the negative effect that September 11th had on the travel industry and lack of demand for it's product. After April 15, WebMiles members will no longer earn miles in the WebMiles program. Members can redeem their miles in accordance with the program rules until May 8, 2002. (04/17/02)

JANUARY 2002
>> Northwest Airlines eliminated blackout dates for members of its WorldPerks frequent-flier program. However, the airline warned that it will limit the number of seats available during peak travel periods or to its most popular destinations.  (01/24/02)

NOVEMBER 2001
>> Miles4Sale.com has added America West Airlines as a new partner. Now anyone can purchase FlightFund frequent flyer miles. FlightFund miles can be purchased in 500 mile increments up to 20,000 miles.  (11/09/01)

OCTOBER 2001
>> Netcentives, the company that runs such sites as ClickRewards and MaxMiles has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. Netcentives says it intends to keep operating all of it's existing loyalty programs and services, including its ClickRewards, Delta SkyMiles Shopping, and United MileagePlus Shopping rewards networks.  (10/09/01)

APRIL 2001
>> As a result of the merger between Canada 3000 and Royal Airlines, customers traveling on Royal Airlines will no longer be able to accumulate Aeroplan miles for bookings made after April 30, 2001.  (04/27/01)

MARCH 2001
>> CarMiles, the Auto Buying Program partner for Delta AirLines SkyMiles, Northwest WorldPerks, TWA Aviators, America West Flight Fund, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and US Airways Dividend Miles closed it's door to the public on Feb. 28, 2001. CarMiles would give you 5,000 to 15,000 frequent flyer miles for recommending a participating car dealership from where you could purchase your new or used vehicle from. (03/02/01)

FEBRUARY 2001
>> Frontier Airlines launched its own frequent flyer program called EarlyReturns. To celebrate it's new program, the airline is offering a sign-up bonus of 1,500 miles for customers who apply for membership and fly on Frontier by May 24, 2001. (02/01/01)

DECEMBER 2000
>> A new online service for frequent flier members has come online. Miles4Sale.com, as the name states, is in the business of selling Frequent Flyer miles. They sell "gift baskets" of Frequent Flyer mile in sizes from 500 miles to 5,000. Currently, the participating airlines include Continental, Northwest, and Delta. (12/19/2000)
